Farndale, Dr William Edward
1881-1966; e.m. 1904

PM minister and historian, born on 24 September 1881 in York, he trained at Hartley College. After Methodist Union he became Chairman of the Lincoln and Grimsby District (1933-1952). He was President of the Conference in 1947 and Moderator of the FCFC 1950-51, and in 1952 became a tutor at Cliff College. He received an honorary DD from Victoria University, Toronto. He wrote several books on PM history, including The Secret of Mow Cop (WHS Lecture, 1950). He died on 4 February 1966.
