UMFC missionary, appointed to Ningpo (Ningbo),China in 1866. He was Superintendent of the Mission for 27 years and after 30 years service, much of it alone, returned to circuit work in England. He was elected President of the UMFC Assembly in 1900. He died on 22 November 1932.
