Missionary in China, born at Wuchang, China, the son of Ernest F. Gedye (1869- 1922; e.m. 1893; Principal of Wesley College, Wuchang). After training for the ministry, he returned to China in 1922, serving there for 28 years. He was interned by the Japanese and on returning to England served in English circuits. He died in Bristol on 4 July 1969.
