Methodist School of Fellowship

The School of Fellowship was started in 1916 by W.R. Maltby and his educationalist brother Mr. T. Maltby, originally to train class leaders. Several series of study booklets ('Manuals of Fellowship') were published. Held biennially at the Hayes Conference Centre, Swanwick, Derbys, the School now welcomes people of all ages, including families, and offers the opportunity to discover spiritual insights and learn leadership skills in the setting of a holiday of physical and spiritual refreshment. Speakers and audience have never been exclusively Methodist, but come from many denominations and walks of life. Many return from year to year.
