Brennan, Eleanor
1792-1859

She was born in Douglas, ???]]. When cholera struck in 1832, she helped nurse the sick and move bodies for burial, and cared for orphaned children. She was appointed Matron of the Dispensary c. 1841 and of the hospital when it was built in 1850, and was a founder member of the Douglas Dorcas Society. Seven ministers of different congregations joined the long procession at her funeral.
