Andrews, Charles William
1862-1940; e.m. 1885

Scholar and evangelist, one of three ministerial sons of Peter Neville Andrews (1833-1894; e.m. 1861), was educated at Kingswood School and St Andrews University. He wrote a biography of William Bramwell (1909) and was appointed in 1897 to create the highly successful Bolton Mission. As a Missionary Secretary, 1913-30, he reorganized the work in the West Indies after the failure of self-government, wiped out its debts and in 1928 bought 'Caenwood' as a centre for ministerial training in Jamaica. He died on 24 January 1940.
