Dodds, Frederick W.
1884-1966; e.m. 1908

PM missionary in Eastern Nigeria 1909-39, was born in Wrangle, Lincolnshire. He was a pioneer evangelist among the Ibo people during a period of rapid growth, making long journeys along forest paths on foot or bicycle. He was District Chairman at the time when Methodist Union brought rapprochement with WM work in Western Nigeria. As Africa Secretary of theMMS 1939-50, he was a prolific letter-writer, especially when travel was restricted by the War. He died on 12 July 1966.
