In 1995 an annual Methodist Youth Conference, with District and wider representation, was set up with the constitutional right to bring resolutions directly to the Methodist Conference itself and to appoint representatives to that Conference and to the Methodist Council.
It was renamed the Methodist Youth Assembly in 2009, and extended to become the Methodist Children and Youth Assembly in 2013 (colloquially known as '3Generate'). It elects the Youth President, which is a full-time annual appointment and involves membership of the Conference and the Connexional Leaders' Forum.
