UMFC minister, he was converted and entered the ministry through Jonathan Dodgson. As a circuit minister he took a leading part in the negotiations resulting in the Union of 1907 and became the chief UMC advocate of Methodist Union in 1932, being Chairman of the Union committee of his own Church as well as of the interdenominational committee from 1922 to 1932. He was President of the UMFC Assembly and also of the FCFC in 1901. He died on 22 March 1933.
