Adams, Margaret
1799-1822

An early BC itinerant, born at Morwenstow, Cornwall on 27 February 1799, whose ministry resulted in many conversions. Her name appears in the first list of BC itinerants (1819) as stationed at Truro. She then went to Canworthy Water, but in 1821 ill-health (described as 'scrophula' - probably a form of tuberculosis) forced her superannuation. She took occasional services before retiring to her uncle's home at Hartland, where she died on 26 July 1822, the first BC female itinerant to 'die in the work' and merit an obituary in the BC Minutes.
