Addyman, John
1808-1887; e.m. 1833

Born in Leeds on 22 October 1808, he was a WM local preacher in Leeds who seceded to the Protestant Methodists before joining the Methodist New Connexion. He was the first MNC overseas missionary, serving in Canada 1837-1845, was Irish President in 1851 and President of the MNC Conference, 1858. He died on 7 June 1887.

His brother Robert Addyman (1819-1886) a Leeds cloth merchant and manufacturer, was also a local preacher. He was a Liberal councillor and was elected Mayor in 1879. He died on 18 September 1886.
