Hall, William Nelthorp
1829-1878; e.m. 1848

MNC minister and missionary to China, born at Sheffield on 19 April 1829. In 1859 he was appointed, along with John Innocent, to begin new work in North China. Under his leadership a Training Institute for native preachers was opened in Tientsin (Tianjin) in 1871. He died in China of typhus early in 1878.
