Welsh WM minister, born at Glochaenog, near Ruthin, Denbigh. He trained for the ministry at Handsworth College and became one of the most venerated and theologically learned of Welsh ministers. His scholarly calibre was demonstrated in his frequent doctrinal articles in Yr Eurgrawn Wesleyaidd and other Welsh journals, his contributions to the standard Welsh Dictionary of the Bible, Geiriadur Beiblaidd (1926) and his commentary on Philippians and Philemon (1916). He was President of the Welsh Assembly in 1918. He died on 27 December 1942.
