Johnson, Myra Stevenson
1908-1984

Born in May 1908, she was educated at Bradford Girls High School and Leeds University. She taught in Chatham and Blackburn before becoming headmistress of the East Anglian School for Girls in 1940. In 1949 she became Principal of Southlands College at a time of post-war refurbishment and extension. She retired in 1965 to nurse her step-mother in Tunbridge Wells, where she became a governor of Kent College, Pembury. In 1972 she married Harold Roberts. His illness and death were followed by her own on 26 April 1984.
