Lunn, June Elizabeth (née Chard)
1928-2007

Born a farmer's daughter on 4 April 1928 at Corsham, Wilts, she taught in Wells and Bath for seven years. A local preacher since 1952, she was interested in new forms of communication, especially through the arts, and was a pianist and organist. As the wife of the Rev. Ian C. Lunn she was Bristol District Secretary of Young Wives and took an active interest in the New Room. She proved herself to be a skilful and energetic fund-raiser for various causes. She was treasurer and then chairman of Women's Fellowship and since 1970 was much involved in the Women's World Day of Prayer, serving as Chairman and President for six years and as Field Officer for ten years responsible for conferences throughout the British Isles.She was Vice-President of the 1984 Conference and travelled widely on behalf of the Conference and the World Methodist Council. She served on the WMC Executive Committee for 30 years and represented it on the European Affairs Committee of the British Conference. She also served on the executive of the Bible Society and was treasurer of the Methodist Homes for the Aged, and a trustee of Epworth Old Rectory. She died on 7 June 2007.

Her husband Ian Carmichael Lunn (1928-2010; e.m. 1952) trained for the ministry at Wesley House, Cambridge. He was Chairman of the Bristol District 1975-1987. He contracted motor neurone disease and died in Hereford in 2010.
