Methodist Retreat Group

A retreat for ministers and deaconesses held in 1970 at Hartley Victoria College resulted in the setting up of a small group to organize retreats. It subsequently became known as the Methodist Retreat Group, but in 2003 the name was changed to 'Methodist Retreat & Spirituality Network' (MRSN), reflecting its wider scope as an organization which promotes and encourages retreats and spirituality both within Methodism and, as a founder member of the Retreat Association, on a broader ecumenical basis. Besides retreats and quiet days, it also seeks to promote spiritual direction, prayer workshops, creative silence in worship and the expression of spirituality in daily life. A newsletter is distributed to members twice a year.
