PM itinerant, born on 6 March 1830, the son of a Derbyshire mine-owner. He was a Sunday School teacher, prayer leader, exhorter and local preacher before entering the itinerancy. Most of his ministry was spent in the Midlands. While in Birmingham he built five chapels and was the prime-mover in the establishment of Bourne College, of which he was Governor for 31 years, also serving as secretary, chaplain and caretaker-in-chief. He was also active in the local PM church and circuit. In 1877 he published 'Carried by the Angels' or nine expository chapters on the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus. He died on 3 November 1907.
