Milgrove, Benjamin

Owner of a fancy-goods shop in Bath. He was precentor and organist at the Countess of Huntingdon's chapel on the Paragon, and was also a shareholder in Wesley's New King Street chapel from 1779 to 1787. Between 1768 and 1781 he published three collections of hymns as sung at the Countess's chapel. Three of his tunes from the 1768 book are included in Hymns and Psalms, but only one, 'Harwich' (SF 80) is found in Singing the Faith.
