Missionary in India, born at New Sawley, Derbys on 9 August 1898 and trained at Handsworth College. In the Lucknow and Benares District 1927-52 he mastered Urdu and was involved in training primary teachers and missionary candidates. From 1952 to 1965 he served with the Mission to Lepers and as its secretary from 1960 travelled world-wide. He died on 8 April 1981 at Dorchester.
