Vallance, John
1794-1882

Lancashire-born Chartist, who became active in the movement in 1839 in the Barnsley area. He served as chairman, speaker and delegate and after one meeting was arrested and imprisoned in York Castle. He was a member and committed worshipper at Pitt Street WM chapel, Barnsley.
