The farm at Bemersley Green on the northern boundary of Stoke-on-Trent, three miles from Tunstall, was the family home of Hugh and James Bourne from 1788. It was here that Hugh Bourne as converted while reading one of John Fletcher's writings.
The late 18th century barn became the PM Book Room until it was moved to London in 1843. During this period the connexional printing was done there by James Bourne and for over 20 years PM books, magazines and other printed matter were distributed from this remote farm by cart and canal to all parts of the country.
