Younger, William
1869-1956; e.m. 1894

PM minister, born on 3 October 1869 in Morpeth. He trained for the ministry at Hartley College. He preached in many European countries and in the USA and Canada. He delivered the Hartley Lecture in 1924 on The International Value of Christian Ethics. He was Chairman of the Hull District from 1932 to 1939 and was President of the last PM Conference (1932). Being senior to the other two Presidents, he took the chair at the opening of the Uniting Conference. In due course he was elected President of the Methodist Conference in 1934. He died on 16 February 1956.
