President of the MNC Conference in 1902, born on 28 October 1840 at Longton, Staffs. He withdrew from the ministry in 1865, but was readmitted three years later. From 1875 to 1883 he served in Adelaide, Australia. He retired to Stockport in 1906 and died on 20 February 1915.
