Camidge, William
1828-1909

An active York Methodist from the 1840s to the early 20th century, he was secretary of the York Savings Bank. An avid local historian, he wrote Ye Old Street of Pavement (York, [1893], which including pen-portraits of fellow Methodists. He was a popular chapel opener and preacher of anniversary sermons in all the branches of Methodism. He died on 6 October 1909.
