In 2008, following the withdrawal of connexional funding, the Methodist Church Music Society set up a new organisation called ArtServe and itself ceased its separate existence in 2010. ArtServe is a registered charity, describing itself as 'a community of people who enjoy all types of creative and expressive arts', including music, dance and drama, the visual arts and writing. Ecumenical in scope, its activities include an annual residential conference and regional meetings, a twice-yearly magazine and a bi-monthly newsletter. Long-service awards are now given not only to organists, but to flower-arrangers and others whose artistic gifts enrich worship.
