Tomlin, Alison Frances (née Bevan)
1946 -  ; e.m. 1980

Born in Farnborough, Hampshire and educated at Bishopshalt Grammar School and Essex University. In 1968 she married David R. Tomlin (e.m. 1997). After serving with the Lea Valley Water Company and with the Pre-School Playgroup Association, she trained for the ministry at Hartley Victoria College. She was stationed in the Manchester North & Middleton Circuit (1984), then as superintendent in Droylsden and Openshaw (1991). In 1998 she was given a half-time appointment in the Holmfirth Circuit in order to work in the area of spiritual direction and the leading of retreats. She was appointed to the chair of the Oxford and Leicester (later Northampton) District in 2001. In 2009 she was stationed for one year as joint superintendent with her husband in the Thames Valley Circuit and at the same Conference was designated President (2010-11). She has served on numerous connexional committees and working parties and became a supernumerary in 2011.
