Cripps, Samuel
1881-1955

Architect, born in Newbury, he was employed by Oxfordshire County Council, before setting up in partnership with his son. He designed the Lime Walk WM church, Headington (1931-32), which he himself attended; also Bush Hill Park, Enfield (1939-40).

His son William Harold Cripps (1907-1999) was a member at Tooting Mission and a partner in the firm of Cripps and Steward. His churches included Milton, near Didcot, Berks (1953), St. Andrew's, Swindon (1962), Stratford-upon-Avon (1964), and Well Street, Buckingham (1969).
