President of the UMFC in 1878, he was born on 27 February 1825 at March, Cambs. Converted in 1842, he became a local preacher c.1845 and transferred from WM to WR c.1849, becoming an itinerant in 1851. He retired to Worle, near Weston super Mare, in 1888, and then to Bristol, and died at Worle on 29 August 1911.
