Cox, Josiah
1828-1906; e.m. 1852

WM missionary, born at Tipton, Staffs on 7 March 1828. He was appointed to serve with George Piercy in Canton (Guangzhou), China in 1852. He was responsible for opening new work in Wuchang, which became a separate District in 1865. After 24 years he returned home because of ill-health and served for six years before retiring toJersey. He died at Lee, south-east London on 11 October 1906.
