Painter and decorator, of Bradford, Yorks and, from 1867, of Kettlewell, Wharfedale. He was the son of a WM local preacher and a partner with his brother Edward (1817-1887) in a painting and decorating business. He compiled A Linear Index to the Wesleyan Hymn Book and Supplement, published in Leeds and London in 1878.
