UMFC minister, born at New Basford, Notts on 14 August 1827. In his early years in the ministry he held several connexional offices, including that of Secretary of the Chapel Fund, 1859-1863. He was President of the 1868 Conference at the age of 40 and Connexional Editor from 1871 to 1876. Though not himself a voluminous writer, he wrote in a letter to the connexional Magazine, 'If God has no need of our learning, He has still less need of our ignorance.' By a statesmanlike article in the Magazine, he initiated conversations with the MNC in 1889, with a view to union; though these proved premature. He died on 28 April 1889.
His older brother, Ira Miller (1823-1904; e.m. 1842) was also in the UMFC ministry.
