PM minister, who served in English and Welsh circuits before emigrating to Canada in 1854. He was President of the Canadian Conference in 1860. He served from 1867 as General Secretary, Book Steward and Editor of the Christian Journal, until ill health forced him to superannuate in 1873. Returning to England he became Governor of the Ladies College, Clapham from 1876 to 1882. He retired to Chester and died on 24 March 1914.
