Vice-President of the PM Conference, 1919-20, was born in Ossett, the elder son of George and Ann Robinson. From an early age he attended Queen Street PM, becoming a member there in 1886 and at 18 was accepted onto the full plan as a Local Preacher. He later served the chapel as a trustee, treasurer and Sunday School superintendent, as well as being a member of the Leeds PM District Synod. By trade he was a rag merchant. He was a Liberal member of the Ossett Borough Council, 1904-1921 and 1929-1935 both as a councillor and an alderman, was mayor 1911-1914, and from 1916 a JP. He served also on the committee of the local Co-operative Society, being its President, 1922-1935. He died on 25 February, 1938, and was interred in St. John's Methodist Graveyard, South Parade, Ossett.
