Christian Methodist Church

The name was adopted by a small transient group of dissidents in Cheshire who left the Brown Knowl PM society c.1880 over the continuing practice of 'lining out' the hymns. They issued class tickets and a preaching plan and held an annual 'tea meeting' similar to the PM camp meetings. They flourished in the Bickerton area under the leadership of a local preacher, Robert Thomas, but did not survive his death in 1902.
