President of the PM Conference in 1862, born on 1 October 1801 at Pickering. He was Connexional Editor 1857-1862 and four times secretary of the Conference (1842, 1852, 1856, 1864) and became a Deed Poll member in 1870. He retired to Gainsborough in 1872 and died on 10 October 1880. His third wife was the PM itinerant Ann Tinsley.
