Missionary in India and college tutor, born on 10 April 1910 at Southport, he gained 1st class honours in Classics at Liverpool University. After training at Wesley House, Cambridge, he served 1934-51 in the Hyderabad District and then in the Medak and Dornakal Dioceses of CSI. As well as being a circuit minister, he was Vice-Principal of the Medak Evangelists' Training School and Principal of Andhra United Theological College, Dornakal. From 1953 to 1970 he taught Church History at Handsworth College, but valued above all being a preacher of the gospel. He died at Holme, near Carnforth 0n 27 August 1993.
