PM minister, born on 9 February 1842 at Northwold, Norfolk. He had a meagre education before training as a stonemason at 14. Moving to Sheffield at 18, he joined the PMs, improved his education, became a local preacher and then an itinerant, mainly in the Nottingham PM District. He gave the Hartley Lecture in 1899 on Inspiration and Revelation. He served as Book Steward from 1900 to 1905 and died on 29 June 1905.
